Hillcrest Farmers Market, San Diego

Every Sunday from 9am-1pm (2 in the summer) at Normal in the DMV parking lot, Hillcrest has one of the best farmers markets in San Diego: lots of fresh produce, foods, flowers, craft and merchandise stuff.

Why is this great for kids? There's usually a lot of samples. If you want to have a snack or even a pretty decent meal there, there's lots of ready-to-eat prepared foods to enjoy. In the center of the market there's a band for kids who are too young to enjoy shopping. Usually there's a (small) canopy to provide some shade for the band and audience.
