They have an imax theatre, as well as dinosaurs, and other hands on activities. It can get crowded with school kids, so ask the people taking tickets where the school groups are going first and go somewhere else - and the kids play area is not open to kids over 8. more

There's a big indoor ocean-themed playground for toddlers and school-age kids, and adults will enjoy watching the animals. It's relaxing! They have not only the usual fish but also penguins, sea lions, and beluga whales. This is, of course, an educational experience for everyone, no matter what their age. Be SURE to arrive at opening to beat the crowd, and try not to eat during prime lunch time, as it does get quite busy. more

This is an awesome place for kids ages 8 and under. It is in downtown Atlanta which means it is easy to get to on the train and on foot. My 3 year old son can be entertained for a couple of hours there, so it is a great way to break up a day of sightseeing with something special for the kids. more
