There's plenty of fun, indoor play here for kids. We loved the garage (ages 5 and over) where older kids can drill, glue, draw and build their own creations. The water works is a great attraction for all ages (bring a change of clothes). A Dig Pit is filled with rubber "gravel," plus plenty of buckets, shovels, dump trucks and a conveyor belt, perfect for toddlers.

The Children's museum underwent a major update in 2011 (after my visit) that included refreshing many of the exhibits and adding a cafe. We'll look forward to checking it out on our next trip to Portland.

My kids love going to the children's museum and can spend hours rain or shine playing. My 2 year old loves the water room and pouring and splashing in the water. They can run around laughing and playing while learning how things work. My 5 year old loves to shoot the balls up the vacuum and see them swirl above his head before going through the pipes back down. There are activities for every age. Bring your lunch and spend the day experiencing how the world works.

It doesn't look like this has been updated in a while! We have a full-service cafe now, a new Dig Pit, a new Baby's Garden, constantly changing exhibits and a gorgeous new theater all as of 2008. Come check us out!

Do you have children's theatre anytime from July 13 through July 29?
    Thank you.
