The deLuxe hotel has lovely rooms with a glamourous old Hollywood theme. The deLuxe is a renovation of an older hotel that attempts strike a balance between being a chic and relatively affordable. I think it does a good job. Our double queen room was spacious and pretty (though it had a small bathroom). The decor was nice, and the service was excellent. The staff really went the extra mile to make our stay pleasant. Sheets were basic, not high thread count. Room sizes vary (and some are quite tiny) so call the hotel directly to reserve a room that will work for your family.
Parents of stroller age children should know that there is a long staircase at the entrance of the hotel. There is a handicapped elevator, and staff are more than happy to help carry a child-free stroller up the stairs.
This hotel is a few blocks outside the downtown core, and I usually prefer to stay closer to both downtown and the Pearl district, but if you don't mind walking a bit, prices are usually lower than for other four star hotels downtown.
