There are several options for getting out on the water with your kids. On a nice day, this can be one of the most plesant ways to see the city, and kids love the change of pace.

The Elliot Bay Water Taxi will take you over to West Seattle for $3 each way (Kids 5 & under ride free). Once there, you can enjoy the open space along the waterfront, beautiful views of Seattle and lunch at Pegasus Pizza (get the Tom's Special). Crossing time is approximately 12 minutes.

The Bambridge Island Ferry (and Bambridge Island) makes a lovely day trip. Crossing time is approximately 35 minutes.

Argosy Cruises offer a more traditional tourist cruise. The one hour Harbor cruise shows you Elliot Bay and the Seattle Harbor while you listen to a guide telling you about the highlights. $16 per adult.

    Bainbridge Island; not Bambridge

Seattle ferries are a great outing with kids, and a reasonable price. From the Bainbridge ferry there are several restaurants within walking distance, a rocky beach, and a play ground.
