Scratch Patches are apparently a common form of entertainment for kids in South Africa, but relatively unheard of in the states. If you have never been to one before, this is a fun and low-key outing for kids. The owners of Earth's Minerals Scratch Patch have covered the floors in two separate rooms with polished rocks. Kids are free to play in the rocks, use a mineral guide to identify different stones, and then fill up a bag to take home.
