Stanley Park is recognized around the globe as one of the great parks of the world and is one of the city's main tourist attractions for all ages. You won't, of course, be able to cover all 1000 acres of the park, but there are some terrific activities for kids to choose from. Located close to downtown, the park is easy to get to via the #19 bus.

Children's Farmyard Link

Over 200 Animals, 2 barns, corrals, yards, and plenty of space for children to roam. Schedule varies & may be closed during winter

Miniature Train Link

Winding along a mile and a quarter of 20" gauge track, the train travels over trestles and through tunnels in a picturesque journey through the forest. Schedule varies & may be closed during winter

Bathing Beaches and Pool Link

Open from 3rd Monday in May through Labour Day, this large outdoor pool located on the park's west side combines the best of two worlds - beach front swimming in a heated tank. The graduated depth makes this a perfect spot for young dabblers with a slide and other special features for the more adventurous. A special lengths area has been cordoned off for lap swimmers. An admission is charged. As well, Stanley Park offers two bathing beaches, at Second Beach and Third Beach which are lifeguarded from 11:30am until dusk through the official swimming season.

Horse and Carriage Ride

Open year round near the main entrance, this is a wonderful way to see the park. All but the youngest children will love the novelty of a horse and carriage ride.

Water Park

The Variety Kids Water Park is Vancouver's largest outdoor spray facility that features a series of water geysers and cannons. Water is ankle depth and designed to accommodate all children. The water park is not supervised. So plan to get in the water or stay close to your children.

Shuttle Bus

Kids will enjoy taking the Shuttle Bus around the park, and you will appreciate not loading them in and out of the car at every stop. The shuttle service starts on Tuesday, June 19 and runs daily through Sunday, September 23, 2007 from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm. The special fleet of buses offers frequent (every 12-15 minutes) pick-up service.
