My husband and I are relatively new parents (a two-year old and a nine-month old at this writing). Before we had kids we traveled all the time, we ate out, we wore clothing without spit up or applesauce on it, and generally lived the good life. We’ve always known that we wanted to start a family, and we’ve always wanted to find a balance between our carefree pre-baby lives and our wonderful and full family life.
We’ve watched friends struggle with this balance, some saying “we cannot travel anymore until the kids are teenagers” others hiring childcare or leaving the kids with grandparents while exploring on their own. We wanted something different, and with some effort, some advance planning, and a certain amount of unpredictability and craziness, we feel like we’ve managed to find a balance that lets us explore the world with our kids in a way that leaves us feeling fulfilled and we believe will help the kids grow and develop a perspective broader than their own backyard.
We started www.deliciousbaby.com to share our philosophy and some travel tips with you & we hope you too will go experience new places with your kids. We're especially proud that our blog post Advantage Rent A Car's Frightening Car Seats spawned two under-cover news investigations and a sweeping change in corporate policy at a major rental car agency.
