Whistler's new ice rink, located right in Whistler village is a great place to try skating for the first time. The rink is outdoor, but it's sheltered from the elements. You can wheel your stroller right out onto the ice if you'd like, or borrow a (free) double bladed strap on skate for a toddler. Older kids and parents can rent skates at $5 each, and get started by holding on to a special ice skating chair that will help you keep your balance. Once you get your skating legs, a fun race track winds its way around outside and through the snow.
