If you are in this neighborhood, Whole Foods is a find. True, this is one of the most expensive markets in a very expensive city, but it's also one of the easiest places to eat with kids. Even high-end grocery store prices always beat restaurant prices. Take a trip through the grocery store and select the fresh fruit, juices and prepared items you'd like, then pay and head upstairs where you'll find a yogurt bar, fresh made pizza, sushi, and other kid-friendly food. With lots long tables and plenty of high chairs, you shouldn't have any trouble seating the family and digging in. Be sure to pick up some snack foods for the road while you're here - there's an extensive selection of organic baby foods and toddler snacks at the basement level.
P.S. If your kids have never seen an escalator for shopping carts, it's worth a stop in Whole Foods just to check it out! My kids dragged me into the market every time we passed by just to watch the carts go up and down.
