Calling the Bon Marche's food hall a "Grocery Store" is a bit of an understatement. This market sells both ready-to-go food (perfect for evenings when the kids just can't tolerate another restaurant, and all the essentials you would need to put together a picnic or cook your own meal. Everything, from the produce to the pastry, is absolutely beautiful. This is also a great place to stock up on French jam, tea, chocolate or other treats to take home as gifts more

Eric Kayser is widely regarded as one of the best bread bakers in Paris, and his takeaway sandwiches are both delicious and hearty. There are locations all over the city, but this is a nice choice if you would like to pick up a sandwich and pastry before heading to Luxembourg Gardens. Sandwiches cost about €7 more

One of our favorite tricks for eating out with the kids is to find an outdoor dining option. There's usually more for the kids to watch and do, often a way for them to get up and move without making everyone around us crazy, and people tolerate a litte more noise. more

Hire a sitter and leave the kids behind. Depending on whether you're the plan-ahead type or like to show up at the last minute & don't mind waiting in line, this restaurant's no-reservations policy is a curse or a blessing. The 37-seat restaurant, where every seat faces the kitchen, is well worth the wait on the curb. Try the tasting menu or order off the menu. Don't miss the mashed potatoes -- the creamiest and smoothest I've ever had, they'll give you something to aspire to next Thanksgiving. more

This fashionable cafe is the perfect place to see and be seen or to take a break from your Left Bank shopping or on your way to the Luxembourg Gardens. Snag an outdoor table if you can and watch all of fashionable Paris walk by while you rub elbows with people sporting the amex black card and clothing by designers like Prada and Gucci. Indoor seating is in a cozy, modern library, perfect for a rainy day. Food is delicious - the Steak Tartare is the best I've ever tasted and everything on the menu is fresh and not too heavy. Our favorite cafe. more

Poilane's earthy sourdough loaves can sell for up to $100 each in the US and Canada. Stop by the shop and see what the fuss is about for a lot less money. While you're there, try the apple tarts (the best I've ever tasted) and the raisin bread. Best of all, if they are not busy, they'll probably offer your children a sample of their excellent butter cookies. If you cannot make it to the bakery, Polaine bread is also available in many supermarkets including the one at Galeries Lafayette. more

This was a beautiful restaurant on the Champs-Elysees, but the best part was that the staff was so attentive and helpful with my 13 month old son. They even had a wood highchair adorned with "jewels" that we called the "King" chair. My son really enjoyed eating in it, and we were really comfortable since it offered so much space for us to spread out. more
