Address Jardin du Luxembourg 75006 Paris France Map, Hours depend on the month, opening between 7:30am and 8:15am; closing between 4:45pm and 9:45pm
The Luxembourg Gardens is the largest park in the city. It is also jam packed with activities for kids.
There are daily marionette shows (schedules change frequently, but mostly in the afternoons on weekdays). A classic carousel. A pond where you can float a rented toy boat. Pony rides.
The playground has a 7 Euro entrance fee, but you won't mind when you realize how clean and well maintained everything is (including the sweet child sized restrooms)
Bring a picnic and plan to spend several hours to a half day here.

Fun! We just had a guest post yesterday from Emilie from Babyccino on the Luxembourg Gardens. She lives in Paris and it is one of her favorite places to take young kids - http://www.ciaobambino.com/ciaobambin...

Does anyone know if there is any place to eat inside Luxembourg Garden?

Yes, there are several stands where you can buy a bite to eat.

Thanks for the tip about marionettes and pony rides. Just what my children would rave about!

Jardin d'Acclimatation - what about this garden - and how does it compare to Luxembourg for kids? I realize it is much larger but I'm not sure my daughter cares too much about that.
thanks!

The wooden boats that you push with a stick across the fountain was a crowd pleaser!
