Museu Picasso (Picasso Museum), Barcelona

Address Montcada Street, 15-23, 08003 Barcelona Spain Map, Tel +34 93 256 30 00 Call, Tickets An ARTICKETBCN pass will enable you to skip the ticket line at this and several other Barcelona museums, Metro Arc de Triomf, Liceu or Jaume I Website

This museum features Picasso's early work, including some ceramics and also organizes excellent temporary exhibitions. If you think your kids will have a difficult time making it through the entire collection, start with the most recent work and visit the collection backwards as the more recent work is more likely to be appealing to kids.

The ground floor of the museum, to the right of the entrance is the base of the old building and some excavated remains of the previous building. The area is wide open (great for running, especially on a rainy day) and fun to explore with lots of low arches and little hideaways.

An elevator is available, but you will need to have a guard assist you.

    Hola from Madrid!
As someone who helps parents travel with kids a lot for my work, i must say your blog is fantastic.....As to Barcelona(my second home in Spain) I often host educational vacations starting there for families. My suggestion to keep the kids engaged and learning are art scavenger hunts + perhaps asking the kids to draw their version of 1 or 2 paintings to discuss later. Also I suggest going after 2pm as most local will be heading to lunch. buen viaje/happy travels! DanO
