Caesar Park Hotel, Taipei

Website

Great location: MRT (metro stop) below the hotel and main train station right across the street so it is very easy to access public transportation. Close to a nice park with playground, gardens, duck pond. Within walking distance to major tourist attractions and shopping. Large rooms (especially by Asian standards). Great staff: very helpful and friendly. They helped us arrange local tours, had good restaurant suggestions, and even escorted us to the emergency room and stayed with us to provide translation when our daughter needed care. Truly went above and beyond in more than one situation. The hotel also provided small cards with a map and directions to the hotel in Chinese...helpful in case we got lost or needed to show it to a cab driver. Also, very easy and fairly inexpensive to travel by taxi in Taipei. We have stayed at the Caesar Park Hotel on two different trips to Taipei and always had good experiences.

Hi Lucia, Thanks for comments on playground proximity! Sounds like a great location and very prof staff. Did you stay on a non-smoking floor, and did you use a car seat on your trip when taxis were needed? (not judging here - just looking for tips!)

So sorry for the very delayed response...yes, we stayed in non-smoking rooms (can't remember if the whole floor was non-smoking) and we were also fortunate because on each of our stays they upgraded our rooms without us even asking. Regarding the car seat issue. Living and traveling in Asia, we found it very rare to find functioning seat belts in taxis (perhaps things have changed now) so we did not travel with car seats unless we knew we were going to be renting a car during our trips. Kind of scary, but luckily we never had any problems and we never took any long trips via taxi. Hope this is helpful. Have a great time in Taipei. It really is a wonderful city and the food is fabulous!
