Bereket Apartments, Istanbul

We spent a week in the Bereket 2 apartment while we were in Istanbul. The apartment was very spacious, clean (if a bit aged), and close to Galeta Tower. The location was quiet, and there were several enjoyable places to eat nearby. A couple of words of warning: as a sightseer, most of the attractions you want to visit are in the old city, meaning that you'll be crossing the Galeta bridge each day. In the mornings, you can walk downhill and then cross the bridge by foot or lightrail. When you return, you'll want to avoid the steep hill climb by taking the funicular (called the Istanbul Tünel) up past the apartment and then walking back down.
