The Hilton Garden Inn in Carlsbad is a convenient option for families visiting Legoland. It's a short drive to the amusement park, and directly across the (very busy) street from the beach.
Rooms are newer, very clean, and decorated in a modern style, though some items (our sofa was covered in a plasticized fabric) may seem more serviceable than decorative.
A hot-breakfast buffet (included with some packages) makes it easy to make sure everyone is well fed before you begin your day, and every room has a mini refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave.
An outdoor pool, and a lobby convenience store also make this property work well for families, and discounted LEGOLAND tickets are available in the lobby.
For larger families, the Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad has one two-room suite (call the hotel directly to book) that features two spacious rooms. One with a king bed and spacious bathroom, and the second set up as a living room with a sofa-bed.
