The ferry building marketplace is the center of a transit hub that connects all of San Francisco's neighborhoods and the surrounding bay communities. It was completely renovated and reopened in 2003 as a marketplace for specialty food producers, restaurants. cafes, and food-related shopping.
This is a great place to explore on a foggy or rainy day or the perfect place to pick up a picnic to take with you on a ferry ride. On Tuesday (10am-2pm) and Saturday (8am-2pm) there is a large farmer's market featuring fresh, local produce.
Ferry service is available with Golden Gate Ferry to Sausalito, Blue and Gold Fleet and Bay Link Ferries. Consider taking a boat tour or a ferry ride to Larkspur, Sausalito (our top choice), Vallejo, or Alameda.
