This place has a large variety of activities for all ages. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is plenty of shade, a lot of different types of shows that include the audience. There is a large petting zoo area, photo ops with birds and other animals, walking trails (don't worry, they are either concrete or wood, easy for strollers of any size), picnic and playground areas, and a "taste of south Florida's terrain." Small replicas of everglades, mangroves, etc., give your children an idea of different kinds of habitats. There is also a water play area and a BEACH! There is an indoor cafeteria and large gift shop. If I still lived in South Florida, I would be there at least once a week. You can squeeze in a visit over 2-3 hours, but you really need all day. Once the kids see the beach, water play and playground and that it's near the petting zoo, they will not want to leave so soon. Take a picnic basket, swim stuff and have FUN!
