So you've hired a sitter for the evening, but didn't have a chance to make dinner reservations? Avec is the perfect place for busy parents who need a grown up meal. The restaurant doesn't accept reservations, but serves a nice selection of wines in a standing bar area on the sidewalk. The food here is some of the best in the city, and every dish is meant to be shared. The menu has a mix of homey but creative small and large plates influenced by Mediterranean flavours. We especially loved chorizo-stuffed madjool dates, but less adventurous eaters will find comfort in the excellent salads and wood-fired pizzas.
