This is a wonderful place to take kids to learn more about where they live - you can hike the trails around the center - they are not that long so you can bring little ones - there is one down to a dock. When you're done you can check out the center itself which has a wonderful display of sea-life for the kids - and best of all a touch aquarium where you can actually pick up all kinds of neat animals and shells. If you go to the top of the center you also get a stunning view of the surrounding scenery. The center also has a bathroom so just in case.
I always find that a visit to this place calms down my little ones. I bring snacks for the walk, a bag for whatever my son picks up (he loves rocks) and have my baby on my back.
Best of all it's free (donations are accepted at the center).
