When the kids are in need of a little bit of quiet time, and a cuddle from mom and dad, the Public Library is a great place to stop in and read a few books. Taos Library is no exception and also hosts regularly scheduled story-times in it's "Children's Library." Toddler craft and storytime is every Thursday at 10:30 am. more

The Taos community center is a great (and low cost) place to let the kids be active, even when the weather isn't comfortable outside. The community center includes a skate park, ice skating, a swimming pool, and more. There's also a climbing structure outside. more

We have such wonderful independent toy stores in our home town that I'm difficult to impress when we travel, but Twirl knocked my socks off. The outdoor playspace was so engaging that I never did convince my daughter to go into the toy store with me. Instead, she played in a kid-sized stream, climbed and bounced on a huge climbing structure, played in a treehouse, dug in the sand and banged on a huge xylophone. more

Fun Peak is brand-new in Taos and is a clean, safe, FUN indoor playground that's awesome for playing no matter what the weather outside. My kids love it because there is so much to do: a giant playstructure, lots of pretend play, dress-up, trains and cars, ride-on toys, puzzles, a reading corner, slides and a mini roller-coaster. There's an enclosed toddler area so the littlest ones can crawl and play safely. And the Smoothie Cafe is right there, so we don't have to leave to get lunch or coffee or a fresh-made smoothie. It's great for all day! I think they also have free classes like music and playgroups. I love that I can chill in a comfy chair with a coffee, surf with free wi-fi, and watch my kids play in safety and comfort in a completely soft, contained playspace. more
