A cemetery as a family outing? Yup, Green-wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York, is a gorgeously landscaped park filled with the graves, tombs, sepulchers, whathaveyou of historical figures. These include Revolutionary War heroes, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Samuel Morse, William "Boss" Tweed, and many more. The cemetery, along with nearby Prospect Park, are along a major migratory route as well, so at the right times of year, there is excellent bird-watching there. Despite its beauty, history, and natural attractions, the cemetery usually has very few visitors, so is a nice respite from the usual crowds of New York City.w
