This very upscale New York Hotel is located on Park Avenue, making it a quieter location far from the crowds of Times Square. From here, it is a short walk to Bloomingdales, the subway and central park.
The hotel has large suites, two bedroom suites, and special welcome packages for kids. There's also a game lending library that you can use when you are just too exhausted to explore the city. Special family packages are sometimes available via the hotel's website.
The in hotel restaurant is probably too fancy for most parents to feel comfortable dining there with kids (540 Park, the hotel's restaurant is famous for its "Power Brunch" and you never know which powerful business person you might spot there on a weekday morning). The hotel does have a nice (albeit pricey) children's menu available for room service.
