The Toledo Zoo is consistently rated as one of the best in the nation, and is a point of pride for area residents. It features unusual exhibits like a hippoquarium and artic encounter, in addition to favorites like African animals, aquarium, primates, white lions, a children's zoo, and much more. Fun activities include a train and unique carousel. One of the things that makes this zoo special is the old architecture of some of the buildings housing displays. The whole zoo is spacious and very enjoyable to walk around. As a bonus, the gift shop is wonderful and carries almost every species of animal imaginable in addition to a huge selection of creative toys.
