Road Trips

All these products have been carefully reviewed by me. I only recommend products that I would use myself and recommend to my friends. Editorial reviews are separate and distinct from advertising on DeliciousBaby.com, and we never accept "advertorial" or pay-for-positive reviews. I do earn a small commission if you purchase a product on Amazon after clicking through from my site, and those sales help pay for the time it takes me to conduct and write thorough reviews.

Chewable Dramamine

If your child is prone to motion sickness, consider giving them a children's size dose of chewable dramamine before heading out on any curvy roads.

Outdoor Blanket

An outdoor blanket like this one arrived as one of my baby shower gifts when Everest was born and we've used it countless times since then. Keep one in the back of your trunk, even if you're not headed out on a camping trip, and you'll be ready to stop just about anywhere for a picnic.

Sea Bands

If you prefer a no-drug approach to motion sickness, and think your child will wear wristbands without fiddling with the positioning, these work well.

Snack Pod

The Snack Pod clips securely to your child's car seat (it's easily adjustable by mom and dad, but tough for a child to pull off or loosten). One section holds a drink while the other holds a specially designed removable snack cup. When it's not snack time, it's a great place to stow crayons.

Trash Bin / Cereal Container

A year ago, I would have paid any amount of money for a solution to keep snack wrappers, empty cups, broken crayons and discarded stickers off of my car floor - turns out I didn't need to spend much money at all. A flip top cereal container stationed next to each child's seat works great. When we're in town, I don't use a liner since I can pop the container in the dishwasher once a week. On a road trip, plastic produce bags fit nicely.
