Vancouver Hotel Reviews

Four Seasons Vancouver

Address 791 West Georgia StreetVancouver, British Columbia, Canada V6C 2T4 Map, Tel (604) 689-9333 Call, Website

My kids can’t stop talking about the Indoor/Outdoor pool at the Four Seasons Vancouver. $6 kids meals, delivered poolside made this feel like a resort in the heart of a bustling city. {% thumbnail 1230 with format=:blog class=floatcenter %}

Even though I had the kids in-tow on our stay, I’m a little obsessed with some of the hotel’s more grown up features - a gorgeous sunlit restaurant serving the best fried chicken ever, extra-cozy beds, and perhaps most attractive to this worn-out mom, a blow out bar where you can get your hair styled before heading out on the town. more

Granville Island Hotel

Address 1253 Johnston St., Vancouver, Canada Map, Tel (604) 683-7373 Call, Website

This small hotel is ideally situated for families. You'll be able to step out the door and get your breakfast at the wonderful public market in the morning. All rooms feature free internet (excellent when your kids are napping or asleep for the night) and some suites are available. Standard rooms can be small. Book early, this is a small hotel and books up during summer weekends. more

Hotel Le Soliel

Address 567 Hornby Street, Vancouver, BC V6C 2E8, Canada Map, Tel (604) 632-0341 Call, Website

The all-suites Hotel Le Soliel provides extra space for families, a convenient downtown location, and good value for traveling families. Suites are small, but a separate sitting area is a nice place for parents to relax while children are sleeping. Hotel staff is friendly, if a little bit disorganized. The new YWCA fitness club next door has a (lap) swimming pool that hotel guests may use. more

Hotel Opus

Address 322 Davie Street, Vancouver, Canada Map, Tel (604) 642-6787 Call, Website

My personal favorite, the Opus Hotel is located in the new, hip Yaletown area of Vancouver steps away from some of the city's hottest new restaurants and shops. Rooms have a modern design and comfortable Frette linens. High speed internet available (fee). The excellent Urban Fare Gourmet Market is located nearby, and is an excellent place to pull together a quick and reasonably priced breakfast. more

Metropolitan Hotel

Address 645 Howe Street, Vancouver, British Columbia Map, Tel (604) 687-1122 Call, Website

This comfortable upscale hotel is contemporary without being cold. Rooms are spacious, and the hotel has a few suites. A sunlit heated indoor pool makes this a wonderful choice if your kids need to wind down before bedtime. Want to leave the kids with a sitter and head out for a meal? The hotel restaurant, Diva at the Met, is among the better restaurants in the city. more

Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier, North Vancouver

Address 138 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver, B.C. V7L 0B1 Map, Tel 604-986-7437 Call, Website

If you want to escape the traffic and nightime noise of downtown Vancouver, the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a great choice for families. Large "Studio" rooms have a super-comfortable king bed for mom and dad, and a sofabed tucked away in an an alcove for the kids. There's enough room for a crib, and a huge walk in closet to store everything. more

St Regis

Address 602 Dunsmir Street, Vancouver BC, Canada Map, Tel 604-681-1135 Call, Website

The St. Regis hotel is an upscale boutique hotel that prides itself on it's amenities. Rooms are comfortable, if small. The sheets and pillows weren't as silky soft as I would have expected for a hotel of this caliber. Still, for families, there are lots of conveniences here. A sit down breakfast (table service, not buffet style) means that if one child wakes up before everyone else, you can head down to breakfast instead of trying to stay quiet in the room. Rooms include free WiFi, free water, and free international phone calls (a real convenience for Americans who would pay roaming charges on a cell phone). The hotel has a small number of reasonably priced suites that would suit traveling families well. more

Sutton Place Hotel

Address 845 Burrard Street, Vancouver, Canada V6Z 2K6 Map, Tel (604) 682-5511 Call,

Less expensive than some of it's neighbors in the Robson Street area, the Sutton Place is a welcoming hotel right in the heart of the shopping district. Rooms are a bit dated, but clean. The king apartments, with full kitchens, are a find for extended stays and with kids. There is a full supermarket next door, making it easy to stock up on food for snacks or breakfast. The Sunday buffet brunch is known for it's luxurious chocolate table! High speed internet available (charge). more
