The Dallas Arboretum is a 66 acre garden full of flowers, trees, paths and a view of White Rock Lake. It is a wonderful plan to take the kids for a picnic. You are welcome to bring your own food but no balls, frisbees or pets. There is a Texas pioneer village with small houses that the kids can play in. During the Spring's "Dallas Blooms" and Fall's Great Pumpkin Festival there are actiities weekly for "Mommy and Me Monday" and "Tiny Tot Tuesday". There are also often concerts at the ampitheater stage. more

This is more than just an aquarium. You enter the aquarium by going to the 3rd floor and you are in a rain forest environment. You begin by looking at Howler Monkeys and other land animals. As you wind down the path there are panthers, snakes, frogs, sloth, bats, alligators, etc. There is a large pool with a waterfall cascading in. It has manatee, turtles and large fish. There is also an aquarium organized by region of the world. There are South African penguins as well. There is a new Mayan wing of the building. more

Kids always love zoos. The Dallas Zoo has all of the big animals. The newer part of the zoo has a great gorilla area and a monorail ride to see lots of animals. There is a children's area with playground, petting zoo and small "river" where the kids can splash around. more
This is the an indoor camping area.It resembles a Lodge that you would go camping in but it has an indoor water park and cabins to stay in that have bunk beds and everything that resembles a cabin. There are alot of crafts and fun activities to do for the whole family. more

The Nasher is particularly kid friendly on the first Saturday of the month when they have free admission from 10-2 and kids activities during that time. There is a scavenger hunt that encourages kids to find certain pieces of art, a craft, puppet shows and story time. This is a great loop of a bike ride around White rock lake. There is a trail the whole way and you get to see birds, beautiful homes and boats out on the water with the Dallas city skyline in the background. If you are daring you can go the whole lake which is about 9 miles total. more
