We're planning to spend a day in Santa Monica on our next family visit to Southern California. Does anyone have tips on what we should see, do, and eat while we are there?

    We were just there this summer! Of course the pier is colorful and fun, but you'll be there off-season. The Museum of Flying at the municiple airport is worth the trip, and Palisades Park is nice too!

    We love renting bikes and riding them along the path between Venice and Santa Monica. There are several great playgrounds along the way and of course that area can't be beat for the general carnival of beach/street life.

    Santa Monica`s Third Street Promenade has a fun farmers market on Wednesdays and Saturday mornings. Lots of stalls, street performers and hustle and bustle. You never know who you might see there.
