Travel Toys
You’ll want to pack some toys for the airport and a few for your destination as well. Don’t bring too many though, part of the fun is letting the kids shop for some special new toys at your destination. Make sure you have a mix of old favorites & new toys. We typically pack one toy per hour that we expect our child to be awake on the flight.>
In general, the best travel toys are quiet, open ended, and do not have a lot of parts that can get lost or scattered under seats. They are also compact. You don't necessarily need to spend a fortune, crafts and other low cost toys can be a lot of fun. We also bring several books (and look for more on the road. It can be fun to look for wordless books in an international bookstore), and an iPod loaded with music.
For a little extra fun, try wrapping each of the toys, not only will it build excitement for your kids, but unwrapping them will take a bit of time up on the flight.

Hi there, I'm travelling to Paris with my 19 month old son and am borrowing a car from friends when I arrive. Do you know of anywhere that will rent me a baby car seat for a week? Anywhere around Paris or Beauvais airport would be suitable as the friends can collect it for me.

Some babysitting agencies in Paris also rent baby gear. Here are the names of two:
Ababa
8, ave du Maine
75015, PARIS
01 45 49 46 46
Kid Services
75, Bd Pereire
75017, PARIS
01 47 66 00 52
fax: 01 42 67 76 88
Rental fees can sometimes be high, and you could also consider buying a seat online and having it shipped to your friends.
