Photo Friday: Seattle Library Escalator

People look at me like I'm a little nutty when I recommend the Rem Koolhaas designed Seattle Public Library as one of the best places to check out when you're visiting Seattle with a toddler. Afterall modern architecture is hardly a mainstay toddler interest. But really, what two year old wouldn't want to ride on that escalator?

What is Photo Friday?

  • Post a travel photo on your site. It can be about any topic, as long as it is G-rated.
  • The focus of the post should be on your photo.
  • You don't need to be a professional photographer (I'm not), but do showcase your best work, and make it big enough to see well!
  • It's nice to include a few sentences about the photo, but it is not required.

So how many times do you have to ride up and down before they grow tired of it??

I can't believe I forgot about the Central Library! I have to add it to our morning outing list.
And Lisa- I'd say at least 25 times before a toddler gets bored of riding an escalator.

Rode on it last year with my daughter - loved it!

I love visiting libraries when I'm traveling - we had a fabulous time at the Public Library in Boston last summer. Love that color!

@Lisa, you would think that would be the problem, but actually the tricky part is distracting them from the hot chocolate stand and the library shop at the top!

Actually, I was terrified of the escalator as a little kid. I thought my feet would gets sucked into it at the top.

Interesting color choice for an escalator. Stands out from the normal grey steel you see elsewhere.
