Photo Friday: Maui Ocean Center

I'm writing about Maui for Photo Friday this week in hopes of enticing you to enter to win my giveaway for a Four night stay in a one-bedroom oceanview suite at the Honua Kai Resort in Maui by making at $10 or more donation to Passports with Purpose. There are 88 prizes this year, and all the money goes to build libraries in Zambia through Room to Read.

The Maui Ocean Center is possibly one of my favorite aquariums anywhere. The tropical setting means that many of the exhibits are outside. With kids, that meant there was time and space to run in between checking out the tidepools and the sea turtles. The aquarium focuses on local sealife instead of trying to bring in creatures from around the world, and that gives you an opportunity to learn more about the animals you might see on a snorkeling trip with your kids!

        This was Dek's very first aquarium! It was the perfect place to take a 5 month old in Maui. He could have stared into the big tank for hours. I have a similar picture of his face with the same look of wonder Eilan does in your picture. I think this kicked off a particularly huge interest in aquariums for us all cause now we search them out wherever we go.

        4 nights in Maui would be an incredible prize to win! Maui is a fabulous place for a family vacation. My kids loved the Maui Ocean Center and snorkeling in Molokini was amazing too.

        I'd love to win your prize, and I've already put my donation in for my chance (although I've hedged it a little by donating to all the other Hawaii packages as well). The Ocean Center looks like a great place to spend a little time too.

        We took the boys there too when they were quite little. What a fantastic aquarium! And we've donated to Passports with Purpose too-what a great cause and a great contest too:)
