Photo Of The Day: Alfresco Dining in Paris

One of my favorite tricks for eating in a nicer restaurant with kids in tow is to find someplace with outdoor dining. The kids still need to behave appropriately, but the ambient noise does a better job of covering their voices. Here we are in Georges, on top of Pompidou Centre in Paris on a lovely sunny day.

What an adorable photo -- look at that little belly peeking out.

Participating in your roundup for the first time and looking forward to taking a mini world tour via everyone else's pics. Thanks for hosting!

I love that restaurant! You are braver than I am - when we were in Paris I brought an au pair and basically didn't take the kids out to eat. (Although I agree that finding an outdoor spot is optimal).

Everest is certainly looking delicious in this photo! :) And a great tip about outdoor dining - it definitely makes you less self-conscious about the noise your children are making.

What more can I say with this tip=) It's one of the greater wisdom of parents to cunningly adapt to their environments with their kids especially toddlers that have problems understanding the words "quiet please"=) And the photo Friday collection is really great it's nice to see other beautiful captures around the world.

I completely agree that the outdoor seating makes the kid noises (yells and screams, as much as we try to avoid them!) seem less shocking in Paris. One challenge we faced, though, was that when we ended up outside, we were often surrounded by cigarette smoke. After a few such dinners, we felt like maybe we were better off inside. One plus of inside? We'd occasionally stumble upon air condition--quite the boon for Paris in July-August!
