Nursing, Pumping and Bottle Feeding

All these products have been carefully reviewed by me. I only recommend products that I would use myself and recommend to my friends. Editorial reviews are separate and distinct from advertising on DeliciousBaby.com, and we never accept "advertorial" or pay-for-positive reviews. I do earn a small commission if you purchase a product on Amazon after clicking through from my site, and those sales help pay for the time it takes me to conduct and write thorough reviews.

Bella Materna Women's Adjustable Anytime Nursing Bralet

On a plane flight it's nice to avoid futzing with clips every time you need to nurse. Bella Materna's nursing bralet is comfortable enough to sleep in, slips open easily for nursing, and is supportive enough to give you a good "shape." The company also makes an attractive nursing cami and a full cup anytime nursing bra.

Hands Free Pumping Bustier

This is a product that I use both at home and when I travel, and it is probably the single best product I had for pumping (besides the pump itself). It is a breeze to slip on over a nursing bra, and you can hook the pumps up without needing to see what you are doing. Best of all, your hands are free to help baby, use a laptop, or read a book once you are set up. What a great way to reclaim all that lost time!

Hooter Hiders

I prefer to be covered while nursing (especially in the close quarters of an airplane), and I think it minimizes distractions for baby and keeps her warmer. I use a nursing coverup with a neck strap because it can be hard to keep readjusting a blanket in an airplane seat. I like hooter hiders because it washes up well, has a nice feature that makes it easy for me to look down at baby while keeping her covered, and has a small terrycloth section great for wiping spitup.

Medela Freestyle Breastpump

If you travel a lot, consider investing in a travel pump. The Medela Freestyle Breastpump is lightweight and compact, and for me it worked just as well as the bulkier Medela Pump In Style.

Medela Pump and Save Bags

I prefer to pump into Medela Pump and Save Bags instead of bottles when I travel. Why? The bags take up less room in my luggage, so I can bring plenty of them, and they're a bit more comfortable to use in the small airplane seats. Even better, I don't need to wash them out once they're used. The downside, of course, is that the bags are more easily spilled than screwtop bottles. You'll need to have a sturdy cooler to put them in or be careful with them. Also, you'll need to carefully pour the milk from the bags into baby bottles when you are ready to use them.

Medela Quick Clean Breastpump and Accessory Wipes

The best way to clean pumping accessories and baby bottles is with hot water and soap. Unfortunately, airplane tap water is not considered safe for drinking and should not be used to clean baby bottles. I use Medela Quick Clean Breastpump and Accessory Wipes to wipe out bottles or pumping accessories and then rinse with bottled water.
